Lighthouse
The lighthouse set of photos are some of my favorites. We drove around after the tide pools in search of a lighthouse. We had given up on finding it and then just stumbled upon this one that is also part hostel. Not a bad hostel location, by the way.

Tide Pools
Continuing with the engagement session posts. We started our trip in the tide pools at Moss Beach. There were quite a few people there hanging out by the beach, including one kid who stomped right in front of us with his toy boat during some of the shots.

We took some photos by some large rocks. These photos brought on some nostalgia because what some may call a first date involved us going down to Corona Del Mar and hanging out at rocks like that. All I remember from that was that Chris sat next to a dead rat.

This last photo was taken near like a seal mating area. We were hoping we’d be able to see a seal, but we had no such luck.
Another Engagement Photo Teaser
Got our engagement photos. I’ll do a full post on it, but here’s a teaser in the meantime.

Engagement Photos
Today, we did our engagement photo shoot in the Half Moon Bay Area. We lucked out on many fronts. Given the weather a couple of weeks ago, we were afraid that we would be rained out. I even got photo ready umbrellas for the day just in case things went south.
Turns out, there was no rain at all and we ended up with, well, picture perfect weather. This was the other thing we lucked out on. If we had taken our photos on any other day than Super Bowl Sunday during a Bay Area-hosted Super Bowl, we would have hit some awful traffic to get to Half Moon Bay in this weather. Instead, it was pretty quiet and empty everywhere. It was perfect in other words.
It was a fun day of exploring Half Moon Bay, getting to know Octavia (our photographer), and taking photos that in an area that reminded us of one our first(ish) dates in Corona Del Mar.
Obviously, we don’t have the photos yet, but here are some preview shots from the day:

Three months left
We hit the three month countdown mark yesterday, so we’ve got a lot of details to put together as we get closer. Expect more updates coming out soon.
We’re putting finishing touches on the invitations right now, but expect to see them in the next week or two. If you can’t wait to send us an RSVP, the link is already live at the RSVP page of this site.
Also of note is that I’ve added maps for both the ceremony and reception sites to the Wedding Details page. Those may come in handy, especially since reception in the area is not so great.
Engagement Hootenanny
Hello again. It’s been a long time. Things have been busy. But I thought I’d check in now that we have less than six months to go.
So, I thought I’d post about the engagement party. I have a lot of pictures from the event, so I thought it’d be more fitting to have a photo heavy post for this event. We held it at my grandparents’ house in Santa Barbara. We went with a sort of rustic hootenanny vibe since the we had food catered from Beans BBQ.
We had family from both sides, as well as members of the wedding party at the event. We had planned the event in time before Nonny returned to Italy, so she was there as well. I left Gianni alone with the camera for the event, so he took plenty of photos of everyone.
The food was delicious as well. As mentioned earlier, we had our food catered from Beans BBQ and Chris’s mom brought delicious cupcakes.
Once we had some food and drinks, we heard speeches, and recreated the proposal in a spider-less version for everyone to see.
We took a lot of group pictures with the beautiful view behind us. Unfortunately, those pictures are not in my camera. All in all, it was a fun but exhausting day.
